Education Through Commitment
The Cornell Tradition, Hunter R. Rawlings III Cornell Presidential Research Scholars, and Meinig Family Cornell National Scholars programs constitute The Cornell Commitment.
These programs recognize, reward,
and encourage further development of
a select group of students who exemplify
Cornell's commitment to academic
excellence, work and service, research
and discovery, and leadership and
learning, and in so doing, enrich their
experience at Cornell and beyond.
- The Cornell Tradition
"A contemporary expression of the Cornell founders' vision", the Tradition encourages lifestyles that integrate a strong work ethic, public service, and academic achievement through innovative programs and financial assistance.
- Hunter R. Rawlings III Cornell Presidential Research Scholars
"Hunter R. Rawlings III CPRS students are committed to inquiry and discovery". These students engage in research with a faculty mentor throughout their undergraduate years.
- Meinig Family Cornell National Scholars
"Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other." (President John F. Kennedy) Meinig Scholars are a select group of undergraduate students committed to learning and growing as leaders in an effort to change their communities for the better.
